Greetings!
As The Classic Dance Experience gears up to go into our first season, we have had to modify our overall competition experience to create a safer environment for our participants and staff. State and government safety guidelines will be stricly enforced, but don’t you worry, the challenge, fun and excitement will indeed remain intact! We are extremely excited to have you competing at our new challenging, vintage style event.
Due to the recent change in CDC guidelines; all studio's group numbers will be blocked. (Ex. Studio A’s time slot will be 8:00am-9:30am. However, depending on guidelines with numbers this may change (slightly) to allow another studios staff (and registered staff only) to attend the event as a spectator. Each studio will be presented wristbands that must be worn for admittance during their studios scheduled block. The staff of The classic dance experience will be in masks and or face coverings while in distanct contact with other studios. Awards will be live streamed and free of charge via social media and on the dance bug app.
Seating will be blocked off to practice the recommended social distancing guidelines for attendees of different households. The stage will be disinfected frequently, as well as the common area, dressing rooms and the bathrooms. This is to be done before, during and after each studio’s blocking time. Hand sanitizing stations will also be available throughout the venues. There will be a health and wellness check daily for both staff and attendees. Masks are to be worn in all common areas at all times.
We want everyone to be excited for awards! Even though things will be slightly different than usual, we will still do our best to project as much fun and excitement as possible to keep everyone entertained. Awards will be available for online viewing. As we know, The Classic Dance Experience presents Overall awards only. Studio owners are to choose ONE registered representative from each number to accept awards. Only the registered representatives and their studio owners are allowed to be in the socially distanced audience while wearing their masks. The numbers that make it into our final gold round will be invited to come back to the venue after disinfecting has taken place.
Masks are to be worn by all attendees above the age of 3 in any common areas. Masks are not required on stage for SOLOS by The Classic Dance Experience and there will be no scoring adjustments for those who choose to wear their masks on stage. Prop handlers are to wait in the hallway 5 numbers in advance and will be escorted backstage (wearing face coverings) 4 numbers in advance. Props MUST be handled by their studio and their studio only in a timely manner. Staff of The Classic Dance Experience will NOT be permitted to assist props this season. Only performing artists will be allowed backstage beforehand with ONE registered adult teacher. All other spectators are to be either in their designated dressing area or out in the audience. We highly encourage having only teachers, choreographers and studio owners in dressing rooms. Spectators will be limited. Spectators will be permitted into the venue during their studios scheduled block and must wear their masks and provided wristbands. We were pushing for a big supportive crowd, unfortunately this season we are unable to provide that experience. Therefore, extra wristbands will not be presented to any studios. Each studio will be given a specific number of wristbands. All dancers will be able to be accommodated. However, the number of wristbands for staff and spectators may be limited. We do encourage everyone to practice social distancing protocols while being apart of The Classic Dance Experiences’ Grand Opening Event!
We can't wait to see you!!
